SPORT INTEGRITY

Target Pistol Australia and all its affiliated State Associations and clubs are signatories to the National Integrity Framework.

The National Integrity Framework is essentially a set of rules that all members of a sport need to follow when it comes to their behaviour and conduct in sport.  As with most sports in Australia now, Target Pistol Australia has adopted a suite of policies which sets out rules for unacceptable behaviour in our sport and specifies the way complaints about breaches of these rules are managed.

The Framework was developed by the independent government agency Sport Integrity Australia in consultation with sports to keep our sport safe and fair.  The Framework is a set of rules that all our members need to follow when it comes to their behaviour and conduct in the sport.

There are four core policies which make up the National Integrity Framework. These are:

  1. Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy
  2. Member Protection Policy
  3. Competition Manipulation and Sports Gambling Policy
  4. Improper Use of Drugs and Medicines Policy

These policies outline what types of behaviour are unacceptable, how complaints are handled and how members are protected.

This is described further in this document from Sport Integrity Australia:

Are you a club instructor, coach, range officer or club committee member?  You may be required to complete education courses.  There are a series of on-line courses designed to improve your knowledge about what is acceptable behaviour and what isn’t.  Each one will probably take about an hour to complete.  The TPA Education Plan sets out who is required to complete the courses.
