How to become a Team Member

To represent WA in National competition, the first step is to join the State Team Training Squad.

Currently all WAPA members who have the following Pistol Australia Grades or higher are eligible for selection to the State Team Training Squad (STTS).

ISSF – B

Service – B

Black Powder – B

WA1500 – Expert

Action Pistol Open – Master

Action Pistol Metallic – Expert

Scores for each WAPA member competing will be included and averaged from all sanctioned shoots, Opens, State Championships, National and International events, including Shooting Australia sanctioned events.

Any individual who would like to be considered for selection to the STTS is encouraged to self-nominate by contacting the STTS Manager, although nomination isn’t a prerequisite for selection.

Qualifying Scores will be nominated by STTS management by 1st January and achieving a qualifying score will be a consideration for State Team selection.

Selection to the STTS will be subject to the selected members agreeing to represent Western Australia at the National Championships if selected as a State Team member and signing the STTS Charter of Conduct.

The State Team will generally be announced at least three months before the Nationals.

More information can be provided by the Director of the State Coaching Council.
