Single Action

Single Action matches

Single Action was developed for WAPA members for WA conditions.

This discipline is for replicas of single action cartridge revolvers designed before 1900.  It includes such iconic models as the Colt Peacemaker and Cattleman, the Smith and Wesson Schofield and the Ruger Blackhawk.

Either smokeless or black powder cartridge loads can be used.  Sights and grips must remain the original pattern.

There are three matches which can be conducted:

  • Centre Fire match course of fire
  • Black Powder Aggregate Match course of fire (shot to BP25M rules)
  • 25 Yard Match (Shot to modified Service 25 yd Rules)
The 25 yard match differs from Service 25 yards in that timings are slower and ammunition can be placed on the ground instead of in a pocket.
